Rotimi Amaechi Triumph over Nyeson Wike

The former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, who is now the Honorable Minister of Transportation, has Triumphed over his enemy the incumbent Governor of Rivers State, Nyeson Wike.

After series of battles dating back to when Amaechi was still the Governor and Wike was a minister, now the table has turned around and Wike is the Governor while Amaechi is now a Minister. So far, Amaechi seemed to be winning, Since Wike had been sacked by the Election Tribunal, even though we have to wait for the appeal or a rerun of the election.

The battle isn't over yet and it may not end soon unless Wike seizes to be Governor, then in that case it would be "game over" in favour of Amaechi.

Meanwhile Amaechi has to deliver on APC campaign promises and time is running fast. He will have to supervise, organize and control several parastatals and agencies, all of which employ over 20% of nigerian civil servants.

Here are the list of agencies and parastatals under Amaechi:

4. Nigeria Shippers Council (NSC)

It also features 18 MP dual-flash camera with Schneider-Kreuznach optics, equivalent to Carl Zeiss. The Priv weighs 192g with a Qwerty keyboard and a 3410 mAH battery, quite thin-9.4mm.

BlackBerry CEO, John Chen, had promised four smartphones this 2015, and this is just the first. Blackberry is known for security and the name "Priv" stands for privacy. Blackberry promises to release monthly software updates for its Priv phone over the air (OTA). This will help keep its smartphone free of vulnerabilities before they enter public domain.

Self-Driving cars the future or not

Following the millions of deaths recorded yearly due to road accidents, almost all car manufacturers are already testing their version of Self-Driving cars. But how well humans adapt to this new technology will depend on the trust they have on computers. How well will these self-driving cars perform alongside traditional cars?

The Tesla Model S and X’s automatic steering doesn’t just excel at eliminating the monotonous, at times frustrating, elements of highway driving, but also performs as a great failsafe, much like an airplane’s autopilot. If a car can be made that drives better than average human, it would make the world a safer place - even if a lot of people don't trust them.

Everyone who uses a computer has seen their computer freeze or crash or witnessed an automatic restart of the computer, and this creates some level of distrust regardless of how useful computer had been to humans. Understandably, no one would want his life risked over a software bug. After all, the self-driving cars would be made by imperfect humans.

The Docklands Light Railway, London’s autonomous railway system made in the 1980s, has only had two accidents in 10 years of use.  However, it runs only in a straight line, and still has an attendant to watch the train, and apply emergency brakes were necessary.

It's hard to completely give up control to a self-driving car, even if these cars are controlled by a "perfect computer". People are accustomed to having someone to talk to will riding. And in the case of an accident, people also want to have someone to blame for it. Trusting a human would not make us distrust the vehicle itself, but in the case of a self-driving car, the whole brand of the accident car may be distrusted.

At the end its going to be a fierce battle. People love to drive; people love being in control; people make mistakes, Computers dont, but they are made by humans. Self-driving cars may just be the future, but there is a lot to be done to get it perfect.

Tell us what you think, would you sleep if you were in a self-driven car?

Super Dog saves new born baby

A story of a Stray Dog who picked a newly born and abandoned baby and was wandering in search of the mother went viral in Social media in Arab.

It happened at a place called Kharbika, Oman. A young man who was riding a bike in the early hours of the morning, saw a Dog carrying something that looks like a dead child in its mouth with some traces of blood. He quickly raised alarm and people gathered to rescue the baby.

They thought the dog must have killed the baby to eat it. And they went closer to challenge the dog only to realize the dog was willing to give the baby away to a human as if it was sent to deliver it.

The child was rushed to the hospital, and was transferred to the emergency room, after series of tests the doctors confirmed the child was unharmed.

The Police in Oman had opened an investigation into the case to unravel the mystery of the baby. They checked all the hospital wards to ensure it wasn't taken away from the hospital, but no baby was found missing.

However, some witnesses in the hospital had revealed to the police about a pregnant girl who refused treatment from the hospital and fled away. And they suspect she may have had the baby and threw her away, and was miraculously found by the Angelic Dog.

Incredible story! What a dog...

USB OTG: Meaning and Uses of USB OTG

What is USB OTG?

USB OTG is a short for USB On The Go and its a new technology that allows smart devices to communicate with one another. MTN steals from subscribers to pay 1 trillion naira fine

You may recall two weeks ago, the Nigerian  Communications Commission NCC, slammed Telecommunications giant MTN Nigeria a fine of 1.4 trillion Naira. The fine was handed down for keeping over 5.1m unregistered SIMS of its subscribers, even after series of warnings by NCC to disable unregistered lines. NCC has further given MTN a deadline of November 16th to pay up or face the consequences. MTN had since then resorted to doubling call rates and unwarranted deductions from subscribers credit.

MTN had in the past been criticized for creating unhealthy competitions among Telecommunications companies in the country, spamming its subscribers with annoying promotions, providing poor customer support and charging high data rates from call credit even with active data plans among others. Many Nigerians had believed that NCC officials were corrupt to have allowed MTN rule with such level of impunity, until the news of the fine was told.

Since the fine was handed down, MTN call rates had doubled across board, and there are frequent credit deductions from subscribers, supposedly in a bid to raise money to pay their fine, since their plea to reduce the fine had ended on deaf ears. I have personally avoided MTN since i noticed the trend and am sure my readers will agree its a first aid to this situation.

The army killed about 30 Boko Haram members while it recovered arms and ammunitions in the raid. Those rescued were 192 children, 138 women and 8 men.
However there were no indications or knowledge as to whether those rescued were among the hundreds of chibok girls kidnapped by the terrorists.
